Continuing on from last time, Judging No Let Boasts (Part I), let’s move on to a different landmark. The striking point is at the tee.

Figure 610d shows the sweet spot for this striking point.

Again, shots directed deeper than the sweet spot will fail and those shots ahead of the sweet spot will be good. Rather, they are deemed to be good. The boast will be fair when the ball is struck with the appropriate height and pace.

We can make estimates about boasts that are struck between these two landmarks numbered 1 and 2. See figure 610e.

As the strike point moves from 1 to 2, the sweet spot moves between the sweet spots.

A third landmark is the left back corner.

Figure 610f shows the geometry from that corner to the sweet spot.

If the strike point is between 1 and 3, then the sweet spot will be between the sweet spots for 1 and 3.
